July Dissolving
July Dissolving
July Dissolving is an original panoramic oil painting of the view from the South Downs in summer 2025. It is 48x24x1.5 inches. The painting was made after a jubilant walk up this hill from Washington in Sussex. The path winds steeply upwards through farm land and eventually arrives at Chanctonbury ring hill fort. You can see a complete hectic abundance of wildflowers and brambles and the hint of a winding chalk path. The scene is just starting to dissolve which represents the way nature transitions from one season into another – almost like a scene change in a theatre. As always, I have chosen to show some of the actual features of this landscape along with how I felt about it. It is happy but slightly wistful painting as summer is over far too soon in England! Painted on deep edge canvas, edges pale yellow, ready to hang and comes with a certificate of authenticity. #art #artist #artmaster https://www.youtube.com/shorts/nHRivBu31Bs
