DISAPPEARING no1 & 2 - Black Rhinoceros ( 2019 ) titled ‘Disappearing no1 & no2’ is an original Acrylic painting of the once widespread and formidable Black-Rhino in Africa. Bringing these beautiful subject to ‘Life’ has been a labor of love and pleasure. Approximately 130hrs of work had been spent on each individual painting which stands as a dhyptic together or could work as a single piece. Inspired by the vulnerable state this magnificent animal’s population is in, despite being the second largest land animal next to the elephant. Overall this species is classified as critically endangered. Three subspecies have been declared extinct, including the western Black rhinoceros.
