At least in my culture, gods and goddesses are almost always depicted in heavy gold jewellery and shiny clothes. By modernizing Lord Krishna here, I meant to bring Him down from that pedestal and bring Him a little closer to people's hearts-- to where we could see Him. If the gods were to descend from the heavens right now, wouldn't they have to pick up our attire?
