This painting is made in an expressive, abstract style, but you can immediately see the connection with flowers. The background is kept very smooth in mostly beige, while the flowers are worked in bright white, gray and black with a thick application of paint. An elegant balance is created, with which the active movements and lines give the painting its meaning. Great effects were achieved with just a few colors. Several layers of oil paint were used with a large brush and spatula. The artist's goal was to create something alive that evokes reactions and feelings in the viewer.
