Promise of the Rio #2
This painting is part of a series intended to pay tribute to Oscar Alberto Martinez, who, along with his 23 month old daughter Valeria, lost their lives crossing the Rio Grande, attempting refuge in the United States. The work is done on found cardboard backing from a discarded photograph my grandfather had taken during WWII, and in the photograph's original frame.
