Light at the End of the Tunnel

What will we find when we finally reach the end of the tunnel? Waiting to know whether our mother would regain consciousness and make a meaningful recovery after collapsing on NYE was tormenting. Every second that ticked was torturous. Minutes of anxiety became hours, turning into days, weeks and months. All we could do was wait, wait and wait whilst trying to stay positive and to remain hopeful. My mind would spin endlessly with swirls of happy and sad memories. Going round and round in circles. Tears often uncontrollable. Covid19 invaded our planet soon after mum’s surgery, gobal restrictions and lockdowns simply compounded to the agony of our already heavily burdened hearts. Unpredictable that the entire world would be sharing this recurring nightmare. I had to face the scenario that I may never see my mother alive again. Why? How? What if? When we finally reach the light at the end of the tunnel, what will we find? Strangely, regardless of where we have originated from, eventually we all end up heading in the same direction, our final destination is the same, we have no choice or control over this matter.
