Fragmented garden

I like to find alternative canvases to paint on occasionally. This time it was a sheet of Perspex I found that had some really interesting patterns already on it that were created by what appeared to be a thin layer of cling wrap or transparent material that bunched up to create many different little windows…kinda like with stained glass windows. I thought it would be fun to play with and fill in and on the first warm day in Melbourne for months, after a long cold winter in lockdown, I brought all my paints outside and with the kittens overseeing, went to work on it. It wasn’t until I decided to paint the back of it black that it went from looking like a stain glass window to an abstract work of art!
