“Cutting g Edge” 24 x 24 inches is a one-of-a-kind original, modern abstract expressionist painting by Juanita Bellavance. In this somewhat edgy painting blue, black, gray and white create an expression of line, shape and movement. Statement: I begin my paintings with a certain amount of chaos. To create this I draw with colorful drawing media, write with graphite and then add splashes of acrylic paint. To bring order, balance and calm to the canvas I “blanket” the chaos with multiple layers of paint. Through this process, mystery emerges. The original layer of chaos can be seen through the layers just enough to create interest without disturbing the solace of simplicity. About the artist: Atlanta-based artist, Juanita Bellavance, uses her mastery of color and technique to create nature-inspired paintings that provide solace from life’s strife and turmoils. Her art is informed by her study of music and her connection to spirit. Juanita is largely self-taught and is inspired by masters such as Diebenkorn, J.M.W. Turner, Giorgio Morandi, William Thon and others.
