"81"

81, A premise to tell about this work, in the spring of 2020 I made "Eighty Fear," the title of the work born from the measure of the canvas plus the impression it gave me once finished looking at it the next morning with daylight made me Fear, so putting together the two elements measure+sensation the title was born. Painted at two different times two months apart so many different sensations perceived in the first phase that I tried to reproduce them in finishing it with different results from what I remembered. That painting, Eighty Fears, although I pass by it daily always captures my attention as if it wanted to communicate something to me. Within a year I understood why. Undoubtedly fear puts us in situations in which we get stuck, it stops us in time struggling to make any decision, obviously not about choosing the type of pizza, but of the series I don't know I don't do. Going back to 81 in the introduction of the beginning of the work at blank canvas, I mentioned shadows, that is, sides of us that we know little or nothing about, most of the time when they show up under different states of mind they make us afraid, precisely. Then instead of resisting or "fighting" them unnecessarily let them emerge, and by understanding them they can become our allies, by doing so, I think, we would have free will, the "full" power of our actions. I want to empty this container of ours in which we keep storing memories upon memories, more or less good experiences, all the lived without or almost if not superficially discharging them, and consequently without being able to recharge with new life, new energy of new emotions of the present, what makes us alive! So off everything for business closure until new management, we reopen in spring with the new collection. Eh yes how many times would we have read it on the store windows?. 81 the title of this work, which they will continue as long as even the smallest and most insignificant fear will bring me' the shadow of doubt. This work was born in the basement, I wanted to make this room accessible as early as the spring of this year, and here it says a lot about how our unconscious makes us perform senseless actions, of course if you let it act, time before the deeds done, people can take months, years, decades, or even not enough of a lifetime. Somehow I knew they had to be born there, in almost total darkness only with a faint light. Usually the basement, compared to other rooms, is the darkest, almost always underground with little light. It is the right place! I brought the necessary, canvas, paints, torture tools ahahah, and started the dancing, late in the evening, so dark on dark, once finished I turned off the faint light and, the work, remained in the dark for 3 days, a necessary time for that shadow cast on the blank canvas to, under those conditions, make friends with that which it fears. As I write these reflections 81, in its magnificence stands beside me.
