Anderton LIft
Anderton Lift, Cheshire; known as the Cathedral of the Canals. It allowed boats to transfer between the river Weaver and the Trent and Mersey Canal, a difference of 50 feet. This piece is an interpretation which shows part of the dilapidated shoring of the canal bank as it was in 2003. It bears an article written at the time by our daughter Daisy Fox (nee Dawes).
