Hello, I'm Sue D.

I was born and brought up in the West Midlands but moved to Manchester to do a degree in 3D design. I went on to achieve a post graduate teaching qualification and taught for a year. I have always bee able to work in the creative field, albeit as a self-employed freelance artist or for one brief (thankfully) time, as an employee. Watercolour painting came into my life not long ago and, as I live in the Lake District, was greatly inspired to create several landscape pieces. I am always fascinated by the way watercolour paint behaves, mixing on the paper resulting in beautiful impressionistic finishes. I was doing this whilst working as a subpostmistress alongside Ed, my hubby, who was running the newsagents. We retired last year closing the post office and shop. We converted the shop into a studio where we both now work full time on our personal art developments. I have experienced a new-found freedom these last 7 months, only dreamed of before now, and consequently have been able to produce the current range of work. It's essence is partly to do with precious memories and my expression of these. They are also to do with how happy I feel about my life with Ed and our two girls.
