Hello, I'm James A. Truett.
Born in Alaska and deeply rooted in my Irish heritage, I am a 67-year-old artist and photographer renowned for my vibrant, impressionist-style depictions of nature. With a career that began at the age of 13, I have transformed my passion for photography into a celebrated journey, becoming an internationally published former AP journalist and the author of seven books. As the Editor & Publisher of the innovative “Awesome Ireland” magazine, I champion the beauty of the Irish landscape, inspiring others with my motto: “See Beauty Everywhere." My art, held in private collections across the U.S., Canada, and the European Union, has graced exhibitions in notable locations such as Bali, Beijing, Islamabad, New York, and Las Vegas. My work not only reflects a deep appreciation for nature but also conveys a message of reflection and hope. My resilience shines through after surviving a life-threatening armed robbery in Seattle, where my camera took the bullet that saved me. A devastating forest fire in Oregon destroyed my mountain home and nearly all of my early pre-digital work. Yet, I continue to create, fueled by my love for the natural world. A proud dad, private pilot, and sailor, I am more than an artist; I am a champion of nature and history, inviting everyone to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us.
