ARTIST STATEMENT As an intuitive artist​,​ my work is a vivid exploration of the abstract​,​ employing a diverse range of media​,​ including acrylic​,​ oil and cold wax​,​ as well as mixed media. My landscapes​,​ though non-representational​,​ capture the essence of the natural world​,​ often delving into abstracted florals. My pieces are characterized by vivid color palettes and organic shapes that evoke a sense of movement and life. The selection of my subject matter is guided by my emotions and the daily experiences I garner from immersing myself in nature. Being outdoors is essential for my creative process​,​ providing a wellspring of inspiration. What draws me to a particular scene are the interplay of color​,​ shape​,​ and emotions it evokes. Each piece is a response to the stimuli of the natural world and my garden​,​ both of which serve as my primary sources of inspiration. There is an ever-present power in these elements that fuels my artistic journey. My techniques are varied and dynamic​,​ encompassing many-layered monoprints on paper and textured canvas oil paintings. I often work with palette knives and spatulas​,​ creating intricate layers and structures within my mixed media works. It is this multiplicity of methods and the richness of layers that make my art unique and compelling. In every piece​,​ I strive to convey the deep connection I feel to the natural world around me​,​ transforming what I see and feel into abstract visual expressions that invite the viewer to experience the beauty and power of nature through my eyes.
