Hello, I'm Paula M.
Paula Moyano was born and grew up in a small town in Argentina, named Salta. Salta is a city in the north of the country, it is sorrownded by mountains and colorful landscapes that inspired her since she was a little girl. She comes from a family of artists, her grandmother has been painting for many decades now, her grandfather was a well known sculpture, and she has uncles, aunts, cousins and a sister that have devoted their life to art (painters, artisans, musicians and writers). Since little, even in the moments when she was dedicated to her studies or maternity (She has a Masters Degree in Public Administration and four kids), she never abandoned drawing and painting. In 2008, she moved to NY, and even she was mostly devoted to her professional career in the Non Profit Sector, she attended classes at The Art´s Students League of New York, where she studied human figure drawing. In 2009 she moved to Mexico, where she started to attend Eugenia Orozco´s atelier. She painted there six years, and during those years she studied watercolor, pastel, acrylic, color theory, and continued working on human body drawing. During the last years she has attended short courses of watercolor and drawing and has been working by her own in her atelier. In 2019 she founded The Canvas Market, where she sells her art with other artists. The idea is to take art closer to much more people. Her paintings have two main themes: Human Figure in its different expressions and movements; and landscapes. In both themes she uses a combination of traditional techniques and style in drawing, with modern touches in the use of colors or materials. She loves using colors in the grey and blueish palette, even though in her latest works she is playing with new brighter colors and drawings in ink. She declares that during her creative process she tries to enter in a state of mind that allows her translate in the most accurate way, the feelings that a situation, person or landscape generates in her. She thinks that the gesture in a body or a face can reveal the soul of a person. She loves drawing figures that are in a meditative state or in a deep connection with themselves or others. She also loves figures in movement like dancers. Through her color palette she tries to portray feelings like calm, peace and joy.
