Hello, I'm Shaindel A.
I was born in Barquisimeto, Venezuela in 1980, when all the greatest but local contemporary artists where all still alive and their legacy was in every building around the world. Big pieces from artists such as Oswaldo Vigas, Carlos Cruz Diez, Pedro Leon Zapata, Macario Colombo, Virgilio Trompiz, Jesus Soto, filled the newspapers, the magazines, and galleries. I graduated as a graphic designer with mention of honor in 2002 and worked as a head graphic designer of a big hotel chain in Venezuela for 8 years. This experience led me to care about interior design and the importance of communicating a message that would activate the senses. A couple of years later in 2004, I started my studies as a Journalist to graduate in 2010 also with honors becoming one of the first students to transfer as a teacher in the same university prior to the graduation date. That was an amazing challenge but one of the most incredible experiences of my life because I got to share with the great intellectuals of the arts, science, and literature. All this background helped me formed my personality and find in the artistic movements as my real passion. I started my journey as a painter in 2014 when I had to leave Venezuela fleeing from the dictatorial government and looking for a safer place to raise my son. Here, I've been able to find the freedom to express my emotions through my paintings and with them, presenting myself to the world. I could say that I flourish during tough times. Believe it or not, Abstrakto, was born during the COVID-19 pandemic and all the artwork I've produced during this year has been somehow inspired from the daily struggles of these uncertain times. Six years have passed since I decided to start painting again and I can say that during this time I have evolved in ways I wasn't expecting. I have had the opportunity to also connect with excellent people that have encouraged me to follow my passion as an artist, which is now giving me the opportunity to be selected by online galleries to promote my work beyond just social media.
