Hello, I'm Vanni P.
Born in the small island of Malta, Vanni Pulé started when very young and had cartoon strips published on newspapers when he was just thirteen. He became cartoonist for the Sunday Times of Malta in the 70s. He is mostly self-taught, influenced by his mother and brother but also practiced under major Maltese artists Harry Alden and Anthony Calleja besides undertaking a master course in mixed media at St Martin’s College, London. He had his one man exhibition at the prestigious Centre for Creativity (Spazju Kreattiv) in Valletta, Malta. Although he participated in various exhibitions, his works are now mostly in private collections in Rome, Los Angeles, London etc. For his abstracts he mostly uses mixed media and acrylics but to keep his designing ability honed he draws and paints representational works in charcoal, watercolours oils and acrylics, sometimes imbuing them with a surreal aura. He believe that art should have no boundaries and should not be limited by academic categorisation and fashion restrictions.
