Hello, I'm Ron S.
After a 28+ year hiatus after breaking both wrists in a motorcycle accident, I find joy and peace to finally paint again. It was my son Austin, who is also an artist, that gave me the inspiration to pick up the brushes again. This arduous adventure has given me the opportunity to put his journey back to visual arts on canvas, and on paper. ASPIRATIONS are the desire to achieve something high or great. Aspiration is also the act of breathing in - of taking in air and sustaining life. ART is my air, my breath - the way I draw something in to me and then work to take it to a higher level. My artwork is inspired by many things; some specific to my childhood and others from my life experiences. Each piece is done within a moment of “visual interpretation” of what I am seeing, feeling, breathing. From my early days in my hometown of Belcher, Louisiana, to my college days at Mississippi Valley State University. I have always looked beyond simply what one sees on the surface to the “heart” of all that surrounds me; to what gives something life and carries its breath.
