Hello, I'm Ron S.

After a 28+ year hiatus after breaking both wrists in a motorcycle accident​,​ I find joy and peace to finally paint again. It was my son Austin​,​ who is also an artist​,​ that gave me the inspiration to pick up the brushes again. This arduous adventure has given me the opportunity to put his journey back to visual arts on canvas​,​ and on paper. ASPIRATIONS are the desire to achieve something high or great. Aspiration is also the act of breathing in - of taking in air and sustaining life. ART is my air​,​ my breath - the way I draw something in to me and then work to take it to a higher level. My artwork is inspired by many things; some specific to my childhood and others from my life experiences. Each piece is done within a moment of “visual interpretation” of what I am seeing​,​ feeling​,​ breathing. From my early days in my hometown of Belcher​,​ Louisiana​,​ to my college days at Mississippi Valley State University. I have always looked beyond simply what one sees on the surface to the “heart” of all that surrounds me; to what gives something life and carries its breath.
