Relationships are curated by verbal communication. At work​,​ at home​,​ at the park​,​ at the bar​,​ online - all these environments are threaded together by words​,​ communication​,​ talking. Creating art is a singularly cathartic experience for me because it is the only place in my world where I can be exclusively visual. Everything about creating art makes me happy - the ideas flickering in my mind​,​ the physical process​,​ the emotional release created by casting an experience or never-before-seen image. Once art is created​,​ my hope is to make you feel something​,​ without any written communication or verbal context. -If I have to tell you what to feel​,​ I've failed. -If I have to give you a backstory to create a feeling​,​ I've failed. -If I have to use any communication other than the piece alone​,​ I've failed. -If you see a piece​,​ and want to touch it​,​ look closer or step back​,​ then I've succeeded. -If you have a visceral reaction​,​ then I've succeeded. -If your mind simply goes blank when you see something beautiful​,​ and you experience a moment of silent clarity​,​ then I've succeeded. -If you have an emotional reaction​,​ coloring my art with your memories​,​ then I've succeeded.
