Hello, I'm jules the sculptor.
Relationships are curated by verbal communication. At work, at home, at the park, at the bar, online - all these environments are threaded together by words, communication, talking. Creating art is a singularly cathartic experience for me because it is the only place in my world where I can be exclusively visual. Everything about creating art makes me happy - the ideas flickering in my mind, the physical process, the emotional release created by casting an experience or never-before-seen image. Once art is created, my hope is to make you feel something, without any written communication or verbal context. -If I have to tell you what to feel, I've failed. -If I have to give you a backstory to create a feeling, I've failed. -If I have to use any communication other than the piece alone, I've failed. -If you see a piece, and want to touch it, look closer or step back, then I've succeeded. -If you have a visceral reaction, then I've succeeded. -If your mind simply goes blank when you see something beautiful, and you experience a moment of silent clarity, then I've succeeded. -If you have an emotional reaction, coloring my art with your memories, then I've succeeded.
