Hello, I'm Gabrielle C.
Gaby Cahn Chadowitz is from San Francisco, California. She currently resides in Eugene, Oregon. Gaby began her love of drawing and painting when she was five years old, painting along side her grandfather and artist, Thomas Sange. She has lived in California, Sweden, Hawaii, Connecticut, New Jersey and now Oregon. Gaby studied at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, and took classes with painter Chester Arnold at College of Marin. While raising her young son, she simultaneously received an Associate Degree in Landscape Design and management. After which Gaby pursued her passion in Art and completed her Bachelors of Arts at University of Oregon. Currently, she is interested in combining her skills in realism with a spontaneous approach that results in a more expressive delivery on canvas or board. Often her work constitutes and amalgamation of materials, from traditional graphite and charcoal, to paper clay and scanned digital imagery. Conceptually Gaby is drawn to expressing the years she has spent being an advocate and lover of nature and other animals. Apart from a few paintings that resonate a more personal narrative, her main focus at this time is anthropocentrism and the impact this belief has on our environment and the other species we share this planet with.
