My name is Maria Castro and I'm from Porto​,​ Portugal. I'm a contemporary and self-taught artist​,​ who since childhood awakened to the world of art​,​ painting and brushes. A blank canvas awakens my entire creative process and allows my state of mind to merge with art in its fullness. I love nature​,​ where I find my greatest inspiration for painting in watercolor or acrylic paint​,​ where I use materials such as a spatula​,​ brushes​,​ modeling clay or gold leaves. With a degree in Communication Sciences​,​ and banking as a profession for almost 25 years​,​ I nurture the dream of living for full-time painting everyday. Painting is part of my essence. It's my essence and my whole being.
