Hello, I'm Katharina Nuith.

My life is a skinning process. My paintings are the skins of my life. They are not botoxed. They are wavy and imperfect like my skin​,​ like my life. A large part of my pictures from 2017 until today are not stretched on a stretcher frame. This means there is a white border around the picture. I deliberately do without it​,​ as it creates the illusion of reality gets destroyed. Images are illusions​,​ projections of our mind. All we see are projections of our mind. We live in a "computer-animated" reality. Because we see the picture and the screen (canvas) at the same time​,​ my pictures destroy the illusion of reality. Pictures are not reality. Bodys are not reality. What we see is just an image of reality.
