Hello, I'm Andrew M.

After retiring slightly early from a busy career as a lawyer​,​ I have relished the opportunity to follow my artistic passion . Having spent the majority of my childhood and office years using soft pastels whenever possible​,​ I retain a particular affinity to this most immediate of media. My landscapes focus on the beauty of nature​,​ ranging from the rolling hills and moors of the nearby Yorkshire Dales​,​ to the magnificent coastlines of Yorkshire and Northumberland on the eastern reaches of England. I also enjoy figurative art​,​ seeking to capture the innocence and beauty in all shapes and forms of the human body. I often work in mixed media​,​ using acrylic paints​,​ inks and sprays​,​ as well as watercolour and graphite​,​ before finishing with my favour pastels. I am also increasingly enjoying using the thick buttery consistency of oil paint. I am thoroughly enjoying my artistic journey​,​ seeking to capture amazing moments in time and to create images that stir the senses.
