Hello, I'm Kris L.
Kristine Laping is an artist living and painting in Boston’s South End neighborhood. Kris works primarily in oils and acrylics and paints actively, spontaneously and intuitively, using a bold color palette. While her earlier work was figurative, her recent painting has been influenced by the abstract expressionist movement, especially Willem de Kooning’s and Joan Mitchell’s work. Kris’s painting ranges from strict geometric to more cursive and seemingly amorphous structure. Her artwork is inspired by music, nature, urban life and issues related to social justice and global public health. Recently, her work was selected for the 2022 School of the Museum of Fine Arts (Tufts University) Annual Art Show and Sale, the 2022 StoveFactory Gallery Winter Exhibition in Charlestown, Massachusetts, and the Mosesian Center for the Arts 2023 exhibition, From the Heart. Kris's painting, Maddie’s Way, will be exhibited in the new inpatient building at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center’s art installation in early 2023. Her work, Skyline, was published in the October 2022 edition of Artistonish Magazine. Kris has been worked in health care philanthropy in Boston for over 35 years and is currently the Chief Development Officer for Beth Israel Lahey Health.
