Hello, I'm Aldis I.
I'm born in 1961, in Reykjavik Iceland. As long as I can remember, as a young child, I always had to be creating something and drawing. All the packaging that came to my home (from the: milk, cheerios) turned into various figures. I finished the art academy in Iceland in 1984. I did not have much time for my art those first years, because of a big family (5 kids) and an illness in the family. Today I work full time with my art and I love it. In the academy, the teacher introduced us to various artists. One fascinated me the most at that time, the Icelandic abstract artist "Kristján Davíðsson", I loved his colors and how powerful his artwork was. I found out that this was my passion, to play with the colors in a powerful way as he did. I start with an empty mind, try to play with the colors like a child, turn the canvas occasionally and in the end, the work surprises me as well as others. I often hear that people love my colors and keep telling me what a good eye I have for colors, the funny thing is that I'm "colorblind", of course not completely, but I don't see the colors like most others do. Perhaps that's why I love strong colors.
