Hello, I'm Lejla P.

Lejla Petrovic​,​ born in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She graduated from the University of Fine Arts and earned the title of painter and professor of fine arts. She has been practicing art for over twenty years and has gone through various stages of expression. The link between all her works is the layers of color​,​ paper​,​ ink​,​ drawings and the transparency of those layers. It draws the image from the background of transparent layers. In the beginning​,​ these were images of cities and architecture. Then​,​ reflections on her’s own identity through photography and the stroke of color through photography. Since 2010​,​ she has mostly spoken through various art media dealing with feminist issues. With the work Hawa ​/​ Eva wins the prestigious award for new media Collegium Artisticum. Feminism and women's rights issues will always be part of her work and something to return to. At the time of the pandemic​,​ looking for a way out of a closed room into the world​,​ she started working on landscape collages​,​ still using the transparency of layers of paper.
