Hello, I'm Blakely S.

I didn’t go to art school or ever envision “artist” in my title​,​ but my love of color and texture and need for a break from my day to day that led me to find my joy in painting. My art gives me a time for stillness​,​ a time to get lost in the movement of the paint on the canvas and colors combining. I don’t ever really know where the piece is going in the beginning​,​ and no two pieces ever end up the same. I do sometimes have an idea of color combination or shape​,​ they usually come to me in waking moments or as I fall asleep at night​,​ but typically I let the art take its own direction as I work the paint. I prefer to use acrylics and a mix of mediums with pallet knives and other miscellaneous tools. My goal with each new piece is to bring a feeling of balance​,​ light​,​ and happiness to those who see it.
