Giftedness in a child is a skill that is significantly higher than in other children of the same age. Initially the focus was on intellectual giftedness, but has been expanded with a multitude of capacities.
Gifted children often develop asynchronously - their minds are often ahead of their physical growth, and specific cognitive and emotional functions are often at different stages of development. Giftedness is also often unevenly distributed across the different intellectual spheres. Thus, a person may qualify as gifted with exceptional math skills, yet be below average in spelling or verbal skills.
This expressionist artwork is made up of a drawing of a girl's face, overlaid with layers of previously made acrylic paintings. The layers are pieces of my collages and paintings that I have overlaid with Photoshop.
