Frida

Frida is part of my ‘Buddha impression series’. I did not set out to create a Frida Kahlo portrait, but she just appeared. I believe Buddha is about the message, it’s not necessarily feminine or masculine. To me the image portrays a message, a way of life. When I was going through a very stressful time in my life, I felt drawn to paint Buddha images. It helped me relax and to let go of my worries.
