"Behind the Scenes - Girl A"

"Behind The Scenes"
"Girl A" & "Girl B"
Acrylic on Deep Edge Canvas
76.2cm x 50.8cm
30 x 20 in.

These paintings were inspired by my recent fundraising and awareness run for Women's Aid Ireland.
Conversations on women's vulnerable feelings have been very much in the forefront of the news recently. Here we have two women, polar opposites, yet mirror images of each other. Women from all walks of life, with very different lives, all feel the same vulnerabilities sometimes. Named "Behind The Scenes" because of our need to hide our vulnerability. And individually named "GIRL A" & "GIRL B", as they would be referred to if identity was being protected in a court of law.
All women (or men to be honest!) can relate to this image because we have all felt vulnerability and despair before. Whether that is caused by abuse, mental health, loneliness, illness, rejection, low self esteem, or anxiety...... As humans, we are more similar than we are different.
