The name of this painting is 'Vrouw in kleur' which means 'woman in colour'. The name is not important, as I created this painting intuitively without a clear idea about what I was going to depict. It was created in the Netherlands where a 'red moon' was incorporated in my art. The red moon is the symbol of the Goddess Isis, representing female intuition, creativity and sensuality. After I finished the painting I clearly saw my mother’s face in the lady. She had died shortly prior to me creating this painting, which makes it very special to me.
