Spleen

"Spleen" is a unique and original contemporary artwork made with acrylic and aerosol spray on linen canvas, stretched on a chassis.
This expressionist and pop art portrait explores the duality of woman and flower, revealing their strength and fragility, intensity and subtlety. I imagine the flowers as the windows open on the woman’s psychic, mixing the inner self (states of the body and vision of the world) and the exterior (reactivity to what happens to us). In this portrait, the woman appears as if she's bored, as if she expected something from life, in a kind of a "spleen", but at the same time, she seems untouchable, seems of needing nothing. This subtle tension is represented with various touches of acrylic and bomb, creating a texture and depth that reflect the complexity of the human being.
